What are the contents of the recovery DVD?  From what you were saying on IRC, 
I had assumed it was basically a WinXP installation DVD, but from reading 
around (e.g. http://www.everdusk.be/Restoring_a_M200.shtml), it sounds as 
though this may not be the case.
