As described at http://ipxe.org/download git clone
git://git.ipxe.org/ipxe.git is the correct address, but it might be
that the git service on that url was temporary down, but it works
correctly for me.
Could you double check if it is still down for you? If it is you might
want to check if there is any firewalls that blocks your access to git
repos,
