Are you using ipxe.pxe or undionly.kpxe?
There is some issues with HP Server BIOSes so you could try to upgrade the
bios.

But also it might be worth testing undionly.kpxe vs ipxe.pxe, undionly.kpxe
use the nic driver from the BIOS while ipxe.pxe use its own drivers.

I think there is quite a few posts on the forum about problematic HP
servers that might help you pin it down better.
