<p><img class="emoji" title=":+1:" alt=":+1:" src="https://assets-cdn.github.com/images/icons/emoji/%2B1.png" height="20" width="20" align="absmiddle">  Would love to see a make option for RPM. We also use RPMs for everything and this kind of thing makes life a lot easier as it cuts out the need to roll your own package.<br>
I would however think that version is better listed as 1.0.0 using <code>git describe --tags --abbrev=0</code> and using <code>git rev-list HEAD -- * 2>/dev/null| wc -l</code> for release.</p>
