<html><head></head><body><div style="font-family: Verdana;font-size: 12.0px;"><div><br/></div><div>Hello,<br/></div><div><br/></div><div>we have a setup for 12.000 Linux and based Desktops. All these systems are doing PXE boot if they are connected to our corporate network. The default PXE config does a "localboot 0" to boot from the local disk. Only if we need to reinstall a dedicated system we change the PXE config to start the Installation or the Rescue System for remote debug. For reliability we have different TFTP Server and different DHCP Server. They all have the same configurations for DHCP as well as for PXE. So if we want to reinstall one client we need to change the PXE config on different Servers. Currently we are doing this with a rsync script.<br/></div><div><br/></div><div>We would like to generate the PXE Configuration dynamically based on the MAC Adress of the client. And we also would like to use http instead of tftp.<br/></div><div><br/></div><div>I found iPXE and it looks very interesting. But how do I do the local boot? The only way I found is to chainlod to pxelinux and then do the localboot. Is there any other way to do it directly from iPXE?<br/></div><div><br/></div><div>Thank you!<br/></div></div> <br><br><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0"><tr><td style="font-family:verdana; font-size:12px; line-height:17px;border-top:1px solid #000000">Ihr WEB.DE Postfach immer dabei: die kostenlose WEB.DE Mail App für iPhone und Android. <br><a href="https://produkte.web.de/freemail_mobile_startseite/"><b>https://produkte.web.de/freemail_mobile_startseite/</b></a></td></tr></table>
