<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Hi all,</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>After much struggle, I've managed to write a
utility that integrates TCP/IP, NIC drivers, Microsoft iSCSI initiator and
sanbootconf into Windows setup</FONT><FONT size=2 face=Arial>,</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>using this utility (called IntegrateDrv) you can
</FONT><FONT size=2 face=Arial><U>install Windows 2000 / XP / Server 2003
directly to an iSCSI target</U></FONT></DIV>
<DIV><U><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT></U> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>There are two methods for Integration:</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>1. Integrating to an iSCSI disk containing Windows
setup (Windows setup is first needed to be created on the disk using
winnt32.exe)</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>2. Integrating to installation media (the resulting
media can be used to install Windows in a similar fashion to Windows 7
direct iSCSI install)</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>I've posted a guide about the two methods here: <A
href="http://ipxe.org/appnote/xp_2003_direct_install">http://ipxe.org/appnote/xp_2003_direct_install</A></FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>IntegrateDrv and its source code are available
here: <A

<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>the latest version of sanbootconf is available
here: <A

<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>I would like to thank Michael Brown for introducing
sanbootconf which made it all possible, and also for helping to make
sanbootconf text-mode compatible. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>(</FONT><FONT size=2 face=Arial>just to clarify: my
software itself is a general integration utility that integrates PNP device
drivers as bootable to Windows 2000 / XP / 2003 setup,</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2><FONT face=Arial>in theory, as long as you feed the right
drivers to my utility, you can use it to direct install Windows 2000 / XP /
2003 to anything that has a boot capable device driver, including an AoE
target)</FONT></FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>p.s. Attached a screen-shot of a VM
during Windows 2003 direct iSCSI install, notice that the VM has no
hard drive, also notice the name of the storage device.</FONT></DIV>
