I'm using the bin-x86_64-efi/snponly.efi version

The debug message (just after the download "...ok" message) is : EFIIMAGE 0xb815d048 could not boot: Error 0x 7f048182

Could you build with DEBUG=efi_image and try again?

Also, since you mentioned using a tablet: is this running a 64-bit UEFI 
(i.e. are you using bin-x86_64-efi/snponly.efi, or 
bin-i386-efi/snponly.efi)?
