[ipxe-devel] Telling IPXE to use a particular DHCP offer

Hi all,

After reading the various responses, I gather the following with the
ultimate conclusion that *this is not possible* for now.

Thanks all for their valuable inputs.

I knew about the ports getting blocked having faced it in another context.
The "why" was definitely an increase in knowledge!!!

Firstly, I am not trying to usurp IT's authority.
My grid (of 50+ machines which has been working happily for a couple of years now) just
provides a better user interface and installation mechanism that IT's.
Its a mix of DNSMasq+PXELINUX 4.x; waiting patiently for the latest PXELINUX to get
bug free HTTP capabilities. :) :) /Yes, I know, the enhanced bits are from iPXE./
I use dhpc-host to ONLY allow the required machines to PXE boot, others are ignored.

The problems begin when someone asks IT to add a machine into their grid which
has already been added to my config.

*** Even IT folks have started using my system as it is just easier to navigate :)

Anyway, can anyone answer the question about the "reject" vs. "accept" setting.

In dhclient's setting, I did find the "reject" setting.
So can an "accept" setting be considered as an enhancement in iPXE?

Just an idea, so I can configure the following in my iPXE script.
--- snip ---
dhcp-server reject all
dhcp-server accept A.B.C.D
--- snip ---

Thanks nad Regards,
Shantanu
