[ipxe-devel] iPXE hogging CPU in a virtualized environment?

This is the output of extop from a 12 cores host with a few idle virtual
machines and one virtual machine attempting to netboot via ipxe:

     ID GID NAME NWLD %USED %RUN %SYS %WAIT %RDY
  %IDLE %OVRLP %CSTP %MLMTD %SWPWT
      1 1 idle 24 1097.88 1200.00 0.00 0.00 101.17
   0.00 1.45 0.00 0.00 0.00
   1948 1948 netbooting-vm 4 111.58 101.05 0.00 302.90 0.01
   0.00 0.06 0.00 0.00 0.00

the netbooting-vm has a full core reservation (2.4 GHz) and the netboot
server is powered off, so that no transfer would actually take place and i
can observe the so-to-speak "baseline" CPU utilization.

when the other virtual machines are not idle but actually doing some work,
this affects their performances and that's the reason I went and took a look
at it...

thank you in advance!
